Duncan Hamilton

A Solicitor by profession, Duncan is well known to audiences across
the Midlands and the South East ,as a singer,actor,dancer and latterly
as a Director.
Recent credits include directing a brand new production of "Guys
and Dolls" at the Wilde Theatre Bracknell, and heading an international
cast in the Title Role of "The Sorcerer" at the Buxton Opera
House.(The Musical Director for both these productions was Richard Stockton).
In addition to his recent work with Richard, Duncan was privileged to
be invited to play the Title Role in a contemporary production of "The
Mikado " for Music Theatre 2000, performing alongside former New
D'Oyly Carte and other profesional Principals. In the Autumn, Duncan completed
a sell-out run of Jerry Herman's"La Cage aux Folles" at the
Theatre Royal, Brighton.
Previous Roles for the Savoy Singers include,the Lord Chancellor in "Iolanthe",Sir
Joseph Porter in "HMS Pinafore",Thomas Brown in "The Zoo"
,Walter Wilkins in "Merrie England" and The Prince of Monte
Carlo in "the Grand Duke",
Duncan, who has appeared in all but two of the fourteen G+S Operas,
has a particular interest in the lives and work of Gilbert and Sullivan
and possesses a comprehensive library on the subject. He is therefore
very pleased to be involved in this rare staging of an under performed
Sullivan work.In the recent production of "The Rose Of Persia"
Duncan particularly enjoyed the challenge of interpreting the role of
the extravagantly eccentric but cunningly resourceful Hassan."
